Yeddyurappa sees conspiracy
Special Correspondent
New delhi: Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa alleged here on Thursday that there was a big conspiracy behind the Mangalore pub incident. He said the issue was blown out of proportion by the Opposition and the media.
“Law would take its course,” he said and pointed out that even the National Commission for Women had expressed satisfaction at the action taken by the police. The police were also examining whether the Goondas Act could be invoked against the accused, he told reporters.
The BJP had a proven track record of respecting women and always stood for their protection. The State government was promoting the culture of tolerance and peaceful co-existence. However, some anti-social elements were trying to malign its image. “But, they will not succeed,” he said.
