Lecture on India’s globalisation

VIJAYAWADA: Dr. Jandhyala Dakshina Murthi Memorial Trust will organise a memorial lecture on ‘India – A journey from Glory to Globalisation’ at I.V. Palace on Saturday.

Addressing a press conference on Thursday, Trust managing trustee and former Mayor Jandhyala Shankar said that eminent ophthalmologist V.K. Raju from Morgan Town in the US would deliver the lecture.

Dr. Raju is a fellow of Royal College of Surgeons and American College of Surgeons. He is the present president of the Eye Foundation of America and a clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at West Virginia University. He conducted first-ever corneal transplantation in coastal Andhra here. He was instrumental in establishing Sankurathi Eye Foundation in Kakinada and Gowthami Eye Hospital in Rajahmundry.

Dr. Shankar said that the objective of the Trust was to organise memorial lectures every year to general public and the medical profession. Stalwarts from various walks of life were being invited to deliver the lectures.Trustee C.V.K. Prasad was also present.
