15 colleges attend seminar on recent trend in physics

VANIYAMBADI: A national seminar on ‘Recent trend in physics’ was organised by the Department of Physics of Marudhar Kesari Jain College for Women, Vaniyambadi, on Thursday. A total of 15 colleges participated in it.

K. Thiagarajan, head of the Department of Physics, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Pulivenbala, Cuddapah district, spoke on the importance of nano technology and its applications. He said that nano technology was widely used in sun-screen cosmetics, paint and portable electronic equipment.

K. Porsezian, head of the Department of Physics, Puducherry University, stressed the importance of wireless communication and optical fibre. Jaimonyohamman, scientist, Cochin University of Science and Technology, spoke on microwave dielectric refomator and miniature devices.

R. Balakrishnan, former professor, Madras University, spoke on the importance of bio material.

Kanthi Lal Bafna, president, Marudhar Kesari Jain College for Women, and Lickmichand Jain, secretary, spoke on the importance of nano technology.

Earlier, R. Vadamalar, head of the Department of Physics, welcomed the gathering. S. Priya, lecturer, proposed a vote of thanks.
