“Ceasefire should become permanent”

CHENNAI: The 48-hour ceasefire announced by the Sri Lankan government should become permanent, said Dravidar Kazhagam president K. Veeramani here on Friday.

In a statement, he said it was the responsibility of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi to change the notion that India provided military aid to Sri Lanka. A political solution to Sri Lankan issue without including LTTE was a pipedream, he said. — Staff Reporter
