10-day book fair inaugurated

Tirupur: The sixth edition of 10-day Tirupur Book Fair organised by Pinnal Book Trust and Bharati Publications commenced at the Corporation Town hall here on Friday.

About 80 publishing houses had set up stalls to display books on topics ranging from children’s fairy tales, science, history, linguistics, novels and fiction to works of contemporary writers.

To promote reading habit among youth, a 10 per cent discount is being offered.It will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The expo was inaugurated by president of South India Hoseiry Manufacturers Association K Swaminathan.

Corporation councillor K Thangavel inaugurated the sale by handing over a book to Deputy Mayor K Senthil Kumar.

MLA and president of Pinnal Book Trust C Govindasamy was present.
