Carry licences, fishermen told

THANJAVUR: Collector M. S. Shanmugham has appealed to the fishermen in the district not to venture into the sea without fishing licences. He conducted a meeting of the co-ordination committee of the coastal security at the Collectorate here on Friday. He directed the fishermen to follow the guidelines issued by the Fisheries Department. They should take all precautionary measures. Information regarding missing fishermen from Mallipattinam has been passed on to the Government and necessary action has been taken to rescue them. He advised fishermen to register all boats.
