GUNTUR: Over 50 kindergarten students of NSM Public School, Vijayawada, who were returning from a picnic at Manasarovaram Park here, had a miraculous escape after the school bus in which they were travelling lost control, veered into the fields and crashed into a canal bund at Pedakakani on Friday afternoon. None of the students received any injuries. They were immediately shifted into another bus and sent to the school. Anxious parents waited with bated breadth and made frenetic calls to the police station since news of the incident started trickling in. School’s vice-principal Jagan rushed to the spot. Driver of the bus Nagabhushanam was lodged at the Pedakakani police station for further questioning. Some 200 students left early from the school premises in three buses and came to the park located at Takkelapadu, adjacent to the NH 5 and 5 km away from Guntur. They were returning to the school at about 3.30 p.m. when the accident occurred.
