GUNTUR: District Collector B. Venkatesham has asked officials and bankers to ground all government welfare schemes before February 10. Addressing the District Consultative Committee meeting of bankers at the SC Corporation Hall here on Friday, he said that the government had already given the nod for disbursing crop loans to farmers under ‘pavala vaddi’ scheme. Farmers who had taken loans in April 2008 and repaid them before December 2008 were eligible to take loans under the scheme, he said. Pat for bankersMr. Venkatesham complimented the bankers for disbursing loans worth Rs.77 crores to urban self-help group members under the Indira Kranthi scheme and exceeding the target. He also directed the bankers to complete the target of disbursing loans worth Rs.130 crores to rural SHGs before February 10.
