Breast cancer support group to be launched

The focus would be to help rehabilitate women who have been through tough times


HYDERABAD: A breast cancer support group, ‘Asha’, set up by Ushalakshmi Breast Cancer Foundation at KIMS- Ushalakshmi Centre for Breast Diseases will be inaugurated on February 4 to mark the World Cancer Day.

Dr. P. Raghuram, CEO of the foundation and director of centre, said the centre would provide psychological and emotional assistance to patients and their families who have been through breast cancer. It will be inaugurated by Union Minister for Women and Child Development Renuka Choudhary.

The focus of the group would be to help, assist and facilitate in rehabilitating women who have been through tough times .

The centre would also launch Breast Cancer Screening Initiative-2009 on the day for poor women aged above 40, free of cost.
