Bail for all in pub attack case
Staff Correspondent
MANGALORE: Twenty-eight Sri Rama Sene activists, including its president, Pramod Muthalik, and State vice-president Prasad Attavara, were released on conditional bail by Judicial Magistrate First Class II K.S. Vijaya on Saturday. The accused were released after each of them provided Rs. 25,000 bail bond and the surety of one financially solvent person.
The bail does not alter Mr. Muthalik’s judicial custody in the Mangalore sub-jail as the Suntikoppa police (Madikeri district) have issued a body warrant to the jail authorities demanding that he be handed over.
Earlier, the court, in granting bail to the accused, observed that since they had been in police custody for over five days, it provided enough time for detailed interrogation. The bail conditions state that the accused have to appear at the jurisdictional police station (Mangalore North) on the first day of every month for the next three months or until the police file a charge sheet.
