Staff Reporter

NALGONDA: Noted Telugu film director N. Shankar plans to make a movie on the problems of archakas and conservation of temples.

Speaking at a function held in connection with release of panchangam at the TTD Kalyanamantapam in Nalgonda on Sunday, Mr. Shankar of Jayam Manadera fame expressed concern over the poor financial condition of a majority of the archakas who are engaged in the service of god.

“The movie will also highlight the urgent need to conserve the vibrant temple heritage and preserve the same for the benefit of future generations,” he elaborated.

Crediting his success in the film industry to the divine intervention of the god, Shankar, who hails from Nalgonda district, highlighted the rich temple heritage of the district. “The Jan Pahad dargah stands as an epitome of communal harmony”, he said .

Shankar released Sri Virodhi Nama Samvatsara panchangam written by Divyagnana Siddhanthi on the occasion. Nalgonda MLA K. Venkat Reddy, Vaidika Brahmana and Archaka Sangham district president P. Mohan Sarma, general secretary D. Vasudeva Sarma and others were present.

Later, budding classical dancer L. Pavani enthralled the audience with her impressive dance performance.
