MADURAI: Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam general secretary Vaiko inquired into the condition of Ravi of Pallapatti who allegedly set fire on him in support of the Sri Lankan Tamils. After visiting the injured at the Government Rajaji Hospital here on Sunday, Mr. Vaiko told reporters that the acts of setting fire and attempts to end lives would not fetch result to the Eelam issue. Expressing concern, he urged the youth to remain calm at this hour of crisis and convey their solidarity with the Tamils in other acceptable forms. The Centre had thoroughly failed to stop the war in the island nation, he blamed. The victim, Ravi, had suffered 80 per cent burns and is undergoing treatment, doctors said.
