VIJAYAWADA: Relatives and friends of Armed Reserve constable Goavada Santa Kumari, 25, who died under suspicious circumstances at her residence at Gangireddula dibba on Sunday, staged a dharna on National Highway on Monday alleging foul play in the drafting of the inquest report of the death. The relatives alleged that the police wrote the report to bail out Karra Joseph, husband of the deceased and a home guard, from the case. Though Patamata Inspector Lakshmipathi assured them that their apprehensions would be taken into consideration while drafting the report, Urban Tehsildar Ramesh Babu had already written the report by then. When the Tehsildar read out the report, the relatives took objection to the observation that faecal matter was found on her clothes. They asserted that no such matter was found on her sari. Following which, the Tehsildar went to the mortuary and inspected the body. He reportedly observed that there were no marks of faecal matter on her clothes. Subsequently, he rewrote the report, police said.
