90.8 p.c. children covered

Bangalore: Officials of the Health and Family Welfare Department heaved a sigh of relief on Monday when the second day of national pulse polio campaign passed off smoothly.

As many as 6,33,971 children below the age of five years from all over the State, who missed the vaccine on Sunday, were administered the drops on Monday.

The target was to immunise 72,78,666 children below five years of age in the State. A total of 66,08,988 children (90.80 per cent) of the targeted children have been covered since Sunday.
