Bangalore: A day-old baby boy was found abandoned in a BBMP dustbin near the Corporation Hospital on Magadi Road in K.P. Agrahara police station limits in the early hours of Monday The infant, wrapped in cloth, was discovered by a local resident, Shantha Mary, who informed the police. “We immediately shifted the baby to hospital for treatment and handed over to the child welfare committee on Hosur Road. He is doing fine and we are searching for its parents, the K.P. Agrahara police told The Hindu. Die of burnsTwo men, who suffered burns in a factory on January 30 near Parappana Agrahara, died in hospital here on Monday. The police arrested four members of the factory management in this connection. The deceased are Kumar (30) and Visagan (27), supervisors of Natural Remedies, a herbal products’ production unit in Veerasandra Industrial Estate. Rider killedA 27-year-old rider died on the spot when he fell from his two-wheeler on the Hebbal flyover around 11.45 p.m. on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Babu, a carpenter and resident of Kavalbyrasandra. The Hebbal traffic police said he lost control and the vehicle hit the sidewall of the flyover, causing him to fall. Body retrievedThe body of Shantha Murthy (19), who drowned in Dasarahalli lake, was retrieved on Monday morning. “We are still searching for the body of the other boy, Ashok Kumar,” Veerabhadraiah, Rescue Unit Officer of the Department of Fire and Emergency Services, said. The two had gone for a swim in the Dasarahalli lake near Amrithahalli, along with six others on Sunday. They were splashing around with a tennis ball when Ashok Kumar and Shantha Murthy drowned. The others managed to reach the shores safely. The deceased were the residents of Manorayanapalya near R.T. Nagar. ArrestedThe Frazer Town police arrested as Wasim Mohammed Ajam alais Babu (22), a resident of Sheriff House at Kushal Nagar near K.G. Halli, on charge stabbing a traffic police constable on January 30. The accused and his two friends, all illegally riding a single motorcycle, was flagged by constable Thimme Gowda of the Frazer Town traffic police station. The accused, who was the pillion, allegedly stabbed Mr. Gowda. He is already an accused in a murder case.
