North and South in final

HYDERABAD: North Zone and South Zone entered the final of the Vizzy Trophy all-India inter-university cricket championship here on Wednesday.

South Zone earned the right by virtue of its first innings lead against West Zone, while North recorded an eight-wicket win over East Zone to make it to the four-day final to be played at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium (Uppal) here from February 7.

The scores (semifinals): West Zone 214 & 214 for seven decl. (Sachin Wagh 56) drew with South Zone 221 & 111 for six (Danny Derek Prince 54 n.o.).

East Zone 125 & 259 (S. Banerjee 56, G. Vasu 43, Imtiaz Ahmed five for 81) lost to North Zone 279 & 106 for two (Abhineesh Sharma 54 n.o.). — Principal Correspondent
