Hindi magazine re-launched

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: Popular Hindi magazine “Poorvgraha” was re-launched at a function at Sahitya Akademi here on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, senior poet Kunwar Narayan said: “As a reader and writer I have had a long association with this magazine. Despite witnessing many ups and downs, ‘Poorvgraha’ has presented itself as an unbiased magazine. It has accommodated all types of voices.”

Noted critic Namvar Singh cleared the misconception that the magazine during its initial years was not known for its partisan reviews. “I know that some magazines are resorting to various gimmicks to increase their circulations. Bharat Bhawan has taken upon itself the task of publishing Poorvgraha. However, those in the editorial team must see to it that this magazine is not run like vote banks politics.”

Poorvgraha editor Prabhakar Shrotriya said: “For many years the magazine had been in dire straits and had not been able to publish all its issues. Few can match its command over the Hindi language.”
