KANNUR: A two-day symposium on Dalits will begin at Nehru Arts and Science College at Kanhangad on Friday under the aegis of the college history department. The symposium will be inaugurated by Assembly Speaker K. Radhakrishnan on the college campus at 10 a.m. on February 6. Pallipram Balan, MLA, will preside over the function. A press release said that papers would be presented on various Dalit-related issues including Dalits and religious conversion, Dalits and land issues and Dalit women, among others. —Special Correspondent
