‘Colours of Spring’ again

Staff Correspondent

DEHRA DUN: The Uttarakhand Raj Bhavan lawns here will be the scene of a riot of colours as hundreds of varieties of flowers are put on display at a two-day ‘Colours of Spring’ flower show beginning February 28. The event will be open to the public on March 1.

Describing the event as a common man’s programme, Governor B.L. Joshi on Thursday directed officials to ensure that children from all sections of society including the physically and mentally challenged visit the Raj Bhavan to get a first-hand feel of the beauty of flowers. Inmates of orphanages and old age homes should also be invited to the event. “Let the event be a live classroom for children who should be educated about the flowers by the parents or teachers accompanying them.”

The has been attracting a large number of entries every year and is a hot favourite with children.
