‘Operation lotus will continue’

Staff Correspondent

HASSAN: State BJP president Sadananda Gowda said on Thursday that “operation lotus” would continue and people who believed in the party’s ideology were welcome to join it without any condition.

He was speaking to presspersons at the helipad here. He was accompanied by Home Minister V.S. Acharya.

Mr. Sadananda Gowda said Congress MLA Gurupadappa Nagamarapalli from Bidar had joined the BJP. Many leaders from other parties were likely to join the BJP soon in Hassan, Mandya and other districts.

He said the BJP had announced its candidates for nine Lok Sabha constituencies in the State. The second list would be released after the party’s executive committee meeting in Nagpur.

Mr. Sadananda Gowda said that he would contest from a constituency decided by the party. On the Sampangi issue, Mr. Sadananda Gowda said the MLA had been suspended from the party.
