Children’s film fete

ARIYALUR: The district administration has planned a children’s film festival for ten days from February 9.

The films to be screened free for school students at six theatres in the district are: Natajara Theatre, Ariyalur – Engalalum Mudiyum; Mahasakthi, Ariyalur – Sellam; Janakar, Jeyankondam – Malli, C.R. Palace, Jeyankondam – Sundaragandam Mahabharatham; Shanmuga, Andimadam – Hayath; and Chitra Theatre, Tirumanur – Aruppar Aarpattam.

According to Collector R. Sudalaikannan, the films will foster progressive thinking among students, besides enriching knowledge. These theatres would screen the movies once a day at 9 a.m., the Collector said, advising headmasters and teachers to escort the students safely to the theatres and back.
