Airborne: CISF personnel showcasing their skills at National Industrial Security Academy on Thursday. Hyderabad: The quiet environs of Hakimpet reverberated with the thumping sound of a march past on Thursday morning. The silence was broken by a loud ‘Parade Aage Badh!’. A band played and 117 Sub-Inspector trainees marched in accordance with the booming sound of the drum at the Passing out Parade held at National Industrial Security Academy (NISA). The passing out officers took oath in the attestation ceremony after marching under the ‘Nishan Toli’, a symbol of patriotism that consists of the Indian Flag, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Flag and holy books from all religions. Out of the 117 Sub-Inspector trainees, seven were women Sub- Inspectors at the Parade. The parade marched slowly in columns of platoons, saluting the chief guest N.R. Das, Director-General, CISF, and Anurag Sharma, Inspector General, Director, NISA. Shoulder to shoulder they marched while senior officers and families of the officers applauded in enthusiasm. “To date, the officers have undergone training in various courses that have been crafted for various security measures and situations. We have conducted courses in Critical Incident Management and Crisis management,” said Anurag Sharma, Director, NISA. “Courses on aviation security have also helped our officers, especially in handling x-ray baggage machines,” said Mr. Sharma. Skill demonstrationOfficers of the academy demonstrated their skills in ‘Rope Malkhamb’, a combination of gymnastics, acrobatics and yoga that is done by entangling oneself on a rope, not to mention reflex shooting, where 10 trainees demonstrated their finesse with guns in different shooting positions. Moreover, blindfolded trainees assembled weapons such as 9mm pistols, 9mm Carbine, 5.56mm INSAS rifle and 7.62 SLR, much to the astonishment of the audience. The event also saw a post protection drill that is taken up by security agencies during terror attacks and emergency situations. Officers demonstrated combat and gun firing positions during a real-time terror attack situation.
