Thrilling three-run win for St. Bede’s
Akash bats well

Chennai: St. Bede’s recorded a thrilling three-run victory over Santhome HSS to enter the semifinals of the Sportstar-Vidya Mandir (under-14) cricket tournament at the St. Bede’s ground. M. Sharukh Khan (74 not out) and Affan Khan (three for 29) starred in their team’s victory. In the other quarterfinal, PSBB (KK Nagar) beat St. Michael’s Academy by seven wickets thanks to an unbeaten knock of 92 by R. Akash.

The scores: St. Bede’s 158 for three in 30 overs (Sharukh Khan 74 n.o., Dhanush Kumar 30, K. DHilepan 25 n.o.) bt Santhome HSS 155 in 30 overs (Vishal Vaidya 35, Yogaraj 34, Affan Khan three for 29); St. Michael’s Academy (Adyar) 127 for eight in 30 overs (K. Siddarth 41 n.o.) lost to PSBB (K.K. Nagar) 131 for three in 18.2 overs, (R. Akash 92 n.o., Aswath Mukunthan 29 n.o.).
