BANGALORE: Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa on Sunday hinted at the instability of his position as Chief Minister. Addressing a convention of Lingayat community at the Palace Grounds here on Sunday, Mr. Yeddyurappa said: “You might have read in newspapers that efforts are on to dislodge me.” “But this chair is not important for me,” he declared and, addressing his remarks to the Lingayat heads on stage, added: “It is because of your blessings that an ordinary farmer’s son like me has become the chief minister.” Calling himself a “servant of the people”, he said that he would change the very picture of the State in the coming years in terms of development and sought the blessings of seers to achieve that. “Earlier, the kings used to have raja rishis to advise them on important matters of administration. I am also willing to correct myself if the religious heads advise me when I go wrong,” Mr. Yeddyurappa said.
