Yeddyurappa objects to Renuka’s statements

Special Correspondent

BANGALORE: Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa on Sunday asked Union Minister Renuka Chowdhury to desist from making irresponsible statements from Delhi on the attack on the daughter of a Kerala legislator in Mangalore.

Speaking to reporters in Bangalore, Mr. Yeddyurappa asked her to conduct an independent inquiry to ascertain the facts if she was still not satisfied with the steps taken by the government.

He said the State government had acted swiftly in the case by arresting five to six persons. They did not belong to the BJP or Sri Ram Sene, he said.
