Karnataka keeps title

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Karnataka retained the South Zone junior women’s hockey title at the LNCPE hockey field here on Sunday.

In the final, Karnataka defeated Kerala 2-0. After a goalless first half, Bollamma put the champion in lead in the 42nd minute and Saira Banu snatched a last-minute goal to complete the tally.

Earlier, Tamil Nadu defeated Andhra Pradesh 1-0 to finish third. Vasanthi scored the match winner. — Principal Correspondent
