Facile wins for Crazy Guys and CAN

VIJAYAWADA: Crazy Guys defeated Siddhartha Cricket Club by six wickets, while Cricket Association of Nuzvid (CAN) with centuries by Prasad (014) and Nagababu (109) registered a 290-run win over Kakarabharthi Bhavanarayana College ‘B’ in the Krishna District Cricket Association ‘B’ division league for Devineni Venkataramana and Praneetha Memorial Trophy here on Wednesday.

The scores:

Siddhartha CC 258 in 43.5 overs (D. Bhanu Prakash 95, A. Sravan Sankar 49, G. Pandu three for 37) lost to Crazy Guys 261 for four in 28.1 overs (M. Nagendra 57 n.o., A. Bala Raju 50 n.o.).

KBNC ‘A’ 157 in 30.3 overs (Rambabu 32) lost to Kattamalli XI 159 for five in 29.5 overs (Sd. Abdul 54, Seshu 46).

CAN (Nuzvid) 387 for seven in 50 overs (Prasad 104, Nagababu 109, Narasimha Rao 69, V.P. Singh three for 53) bt KBNC ‘B’ 97 in 23.1 overs.

Sudhakar slams century

Junior Andhra player B. Sudhakar’s unbeaten 122 helped Image Makers XI defeat Adelof XI by 116 runs in the Guntur District Cricket Association ‘A’ division league for Annamraju Rukmabai and Annamraju Lakshmi Narasimham Memorial Trophy at Guntur on Wednesday. In another match, EVM College of Engineering scored a nine-run victory over Riders XI.

Image Makers 278 for three in 40 overs (B. Sudhakar 122 n.o., R. Pavan 67, Gouse 45) bt Adelof XI 162 (Suresh three for 15, Somasundar three for 30, Jaganadha Rao three for 27).

EVM College of Engineering 200 for five in 40 overs (Phani Madhav 70) bt Riders XI 192 in 40 overs (Sanjeevi 48, Srinu four for 35).

Easy for Andhra

Andhra team defeated Amaravati District outfit 4-1 in the all- India invitational hockey tournament for Aluminium Cup at Korba (Chhattisgarh) on Wednesday.

Right-in S. Ramesh Kumar scored a brace in the14th and 48th minute, while Right-out P. Ramesh bulged the net twice in the 28th and 56th minute. For Amaravati outfit Samson scored solitary goal in the 49th minute. — Principal Correspondent
