NCP march in Kannur on Sunday

Special Correspondent

KANNUR: The ‘Nava Sandesha Yatra’ of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) being held from February 14 to March 17 will convey the party’s approaches, according to party vice-president K.T. Kunhahammad.

He told press persons here on Thursday that the NCP was in favour of a secular government at the Centre. The NCP’s political stand was to oppose the communal threat of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the ‘anti-democratic’ stance of the Congress, he said adding that party had ideological affinity with the Left parties.

Against BJP

The NCP was supporting the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance government to keep the BJP out of power.

He said that the yatra led by NCP State president K. Muraleedharan would visit Payyannur, Pazhayangadi, Taliparamba, Azhikode, Kannur, Chakkarakkal, Thalassery, Panur, Mattannur and Irity on February 15 and 16.
