Boats damaged due to high tides

KAVALI :Many boats and nets were damaged as the strong tides raised to about six to eight feet height from the sea and came on to the shore at Kavali in the district on Thursday.

The fishermen ran helter-skelter leaving the boats and the rough weather continued for a few hours in the sea.

Panic created in the villages along the sea coast with the rumours spreading that Tsunami occurred in the sea.

Villagers said the tidal waves gushed out from the sea and water came on to the shore.

The situation came to normal after some time. -Staff Reporter
