IGNOU bid for transparency in exams

New Delhi: IGNOU has decided to provide photocopy of answer sheets within 45 days of declaration of results if a candidate desires in order to bring in more transparency in its examination system. The decision will be applicable from December 2008 examination onwards, a release issued by the university said. The move will help in developing rigid quality control mechanism within the IGNOU evaluation system, the release said, adding that the practice exists in most advanced countries. Speaking about the other benefits of the scheme, IGNOU Vice-Chancellor V. N. Rajasekharan Pillai said it will provide candidates an opportunity to understand their mistakes.
