LUCKNOW: Radhey Kumar smashed the 27-year-old meet record to win the men’s marathon event on the fifth and final day of the all-India Police athletics meet at the 35th Battalion PAC Stadium here on Sunday. Kumar clocked 2:24:25.03s to take the top honours. The previous record, created way back in 1982, belonged to Rasdev Singh (2:50:05s). The results (winners only): Men: 200m: Ajay Kumar (21.68s), 800m: Nirvair Singh (1:50.09s), 4x100m relay: Maharashtra (Sahin Kutti, Sangram Patil, Rajendra Dagade, Shoeb Sadik Syyed), Marathon: Radhey Kumar (2:24:25.03s). Women: 200m: Hema Nazreth Bhanga (25.0s), 800m: Wahida Rehman (2:10.20s), 4x100m relay: CRPF (Manju M.V, Anisha K. Vijayan, Seena Abraham, Julie Daniel), Triple jump: Anisha K. Vijayan (13.19m), Discus: Seema Antil (52.65m).
