SFIO officials grill Rajus, ex-CFO
HYDERABAD: A 12-member team from Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) probing the Rs. 7,136-crore Satyam fraud grilled the Raju brothers and former Chief Finance Officer of Satyam V. Srinivas at Chanchalguda jail on Saturday. Sources in the jail department said the questioning of B. Ramalinga Raju, his brother B. Rama Raju and Mr. Srinivas took place in the presence of the defence counsels from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“The lawyers were advised not to intervene, but observe the proceedings from a distance,” sources told The Hindu.
The SFIO team that arrived at the jail in the morning divided itself into three separate teams of four members each and quizzed the trio simultaneously. The SFIO officials would question Price Waterhouse auditors – S. Gopalakrishnan and Talluri Srinivas, also lodged in the Chanchalguda jail on Sunday.
The City Court on Friday allowed the SFIO officials to interrogate and record the statements of the Raju brothers and Mr. Srinivas on Saturday and that of the two auditors on Sunday.
