S. Gopinathan Thiruvananthapuram: Deputy Inspector General of Police S. Gopinathan has been posted as City Police Commissioner, Thiruvananthapuram. He was earlier holding charge of DIG, State Police Intelligence. Mr. Gopinathan, an international-level volleyball player, joined the Kerala Police Service as Sub Inspector in 1975. He has served as Superintendent of Police in Kannur, Kasaragod, Kottayam and Thiruvananthapuram Rural districts. He was awarded the President’s Medal for Meritorious Service in 1993 and the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service in 2008. He is scheduled to take charge next week. – Staff Reporter
