Bank holds meet on housing

Kakinada: The State Bank of India held a meeting of builders, engineers and architects on Sunday to explain the initiatives taken by it to give a fillip to housing sector against the backdrop of the global crisis. Deputy General Manager H. Subramaniam said the bank was offering home loans for interest lower than the cost of deposits to stimulate construction of houses.

SBI Assistant General Manager J. Chandrasekharam, AGM (retail assets) H. Maitesh, Kakinada main branch chief manager P. Tribhuvan Reddy, Gaigolupadu branch manager Ch. Narayana Murthy and others took part.
