Letters to the Editor
Two years ago, the nation woke up to the harsh reality of the Nithari serial killings. The death sentence awarded to Moninder Singh Pandher and Surinder Koli, the perpetrators of the crimes, reaffirms our faith in the judiciary. The wait for justice for the families of the victims has finally paid off. While the verdict will not heal the wounds of the bereaved families, it will surely ease their pain. Saloni Bhatia, New Delhi The killings in Nithari still leave one petrified. As the case dragged on, the focus of the media and the people gradually shifted to other and newer happenings until two days ago. It was heartening to see the victims and their relatives getting justice at last. People like Pandher and Koli deserve nothing less than the death penalty. Such was the nature of the ghastly killings that they will stay with us somewhere in our memory and haunt us forever. Saira Aslam, New Delhi
