KRISHNAGIRI: An awareness campaign on Credit Linked Captial Subsidy Scheme for Technology upgradation was held in Krishnagiri on Saturday. T. Ekambavanan, Director of the Pallavan Grama Bank, inaugurated the camp. He stressed the need for utilizing various government schemes for the promotion of the industrial sector in Krishnagiri and explained in detail the role of banks in implementation of the schemes. C. Alagirisamy, Assistant Director, Ministry of Medium and Enterprises Development Institute, Chennai, explained the salient features of the scheme through a power point presentation about the scheme. He said, the scheme was started in September 2005 for the benefit of micro, small and medium enterprises for technology upgradation and the adoption of state of the art technology to improve productivity, quality and environment friendly industries in urban and suburban areas in the State.About 50 sub-sectors including bio-tech, pharma, plastic, glass, food processing, leather, electronics, general engineering, ready made garments and some other industries were brought under the scheme. Maximum ceiling to availing of the subsidy is 15 per cent and up to Rs. 15 lakhs. Ravichandran, Executive Committee member of the Krishnagiri District Small and Tiny Industries Association (KRIDISTIA), proposed the vote of thanks.
