Station masters seek better deal

Staff Reporter

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The SRMU Station Master’s Council of Thiruvananthapuram Railway Division has demanded repatriation of the station masters at the divisional control office to the parent railway station.

In a statement here, the council has said some of the station masters competent for running trains are working in the divisional control office for years together resulting in shortage of station masters at the various stations in the division.

The station masters are not getting even a day’s leave during emergency and are subjected to stress and heavy workload due to lack of adequate station masters, the statement said.
