It was like economic survey: PR Budget turns out to be damp squib: LSP
HYDERABAD: All the Opposition parties in the State have criticised the interim Union budget presented by Pranab Mukherji on Monday, as containing nothing that could help tide over the current economic recession.
TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu quipped, “It is a hollow budget meant for merely paying salaries”.
The stimulus package of Rs. 40,000 crore was grossly inadequate.
BJP leader M.Venkaiah Naidu said in Nellore that the budget had caused distress to all major sectors in the country.
Terming the budget as ‘useless’, he said issues relating to inflation, recession, insecurity of employees in MNCs and other issuses were not included.
Praja Rajyam said, the budget was more like an economic survey. Party leaders K.S.R. Murthy and C. Ramachandraiah said there did not appear to be any focus on the UPA government’s flagship programmes including NREGP. Despite tall talk about the ‘Aam Aadmi’, there was nothing for the common man to be happy about.
Lok Satta Party president Jayaprakash Narayan described the budget as damp squib lacking any package to arrest and reverse the downtrend in the economy.
