Ministers, Mayor inspect venue for Tirupur district inauguration

Tirupur: After a series of inspections by Ministers, Mayor and officials from revenue and police departments over few days, venue for the inaugural of Tirupur district scheduled on February 22 has been finalised on Monday.
Official sources said that the inauguration ceremony would held on Iduvampalayam Government Higher Secondary School premises with the function to commence at 4 p.m.
The appointment of the Collector, Superintendent of Police and other district officials for the new district were expected to be announced before Saturday.
Meanwhile, efforts were underway to finalise the site for the Integrated Collectorate complex to be constructed once the district was inaugurated.
Sources said that according to the master plan prepared, the Collectorate would come up on a plot of 119 acres with the office of Superintendent of Police and residences of Collector, SP and other senior revenue and rural development department officers situated adjacent to it.
