Garbage dumping shifted to Dundigal
HYDERABAD: With the government clearing the Integrated Solid Waste Management Project for city, the GHMC has decided to shift dumping of garbage to a 100-acre site in Dundigal, Ranga Reddy district. Orders handing over the site to the municipal corporation have been issued by Collector Dana Kishore, official sources said.
The capital generates close to 4,000 tonnes of municipal solid waste and most of it, including the garbage of Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB), is being dumped at the Jawaharnagar site in Kapra. The site will now be capped and a sanitary landfill is expected to be built there by the Ramky group at a cost of Rs. 900 crore with funding from the JNNURM.
