Two-day workshop on GI endoscopy

HYDERABAD: Asian Institute of Gastroenterology (AIG) is organising a workshop on ‘Advanced GI Endoscopy’ from February 20 to 22 at Shilpakala Vedika, according to a release from AIG. The international workshop will be attended by 2,000 gastroenterologists and gastrointestinal endoscopists from 30 countries.

A slew of international experts will perform complex gastrointestinal endoscopic surgeries and the proceedings will be transmitted live to the participants for active interaction.

The workshop will have detailed discussions on new technologies for early detection of gastrointestinal cancer.

Live demonstration of endoscopic techniques for treating cancer, endoscopic surgeries, new technology for evaluation of small intestines and colon, techniques for non-surgical endoscopic treatment of obesity will also be a part of the workshop.

For postgraduate students, a comprehensive endoscopy course has also been designed on February 22, the release added.
