Meeting on state of education in State on Feb. 22
HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh Save Education Committee, involved in building people’s movements on education-related issues in the State, will organise its third State-level congress on February 22 at the Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University in Nampally.
Sharing the details at a press conference on Monday, vice-president of the committee K. Chakradhara Rao said the main concern of the conference would be about the direction the education sector is taking. “Successive governments have not given education its due importance. Over 30 lakh children are yet to be brought into the fold of formal education. Less than 10 per cent of those who join schools are able to reach up to Class X,” he said. K.R. Venugopal, retired I.A.S. officer will attend the congress as the chief guest.
