BANGALORE: A 70-year-old man was hacked to death near his house in Chokkanahalli in Bagalur police station limits. The police said Rayappa, a small time brick manufacturer, was attacked while he was making bricks. Rayappa was alone when he was attacked as his four children had gone for prayers to a nearby church. The police suspect involvement of an employee in the murder. The Bagalur police have registered a case. SuicideA 21-year-old woman, who allegedly was harassed by her husband, hanged herself in her house in Suddaguntepalya on Saturday evening. She died in a private hospital on Sunday. According to Mico Layout police, Lata married Manjunath (32) two years ago. Manjunath, a software engineer in a company in Ulsoor, allegedly demanded money from his father-in-law Ramananjappa to settle in Canada. Ramanjanappa said he had given Rs. 2 lakh and some jewellery as dowry to Manjunath. He has accused Manjunath of harassing his daughter. He has lodged a complaint with the Mico Layout police. The police have registered a case of dowry death. They have arrested Manjunath and one Krishna.
