Badminton
INDORE: One of the senior most officials of the Badminton Association of India, S. Muralidharan, the chief referee of the ongoing National badminton championship has been selected as Competitions Manager for the 2010 Commonwealth Games to be held in New Delhi. Having officiated in various international competitions in various parts of the globe, Mr Muralidharan, the only BWF certified umpire in the country, considers this a prestigious assignment and a major recognition in his long career in the field of badminton administration. A recipient of the Meritorious service award from BWF, Muralidharan, who hails from Kerala is the Secretary of the Kerala Badminton Association aside from being BAI’s Vice President. — Special Correspondent
