Probe into murders makes no headway

Staff Reporter

‘We are searching for credible evidence to arrest the accused’

Bangalore: The probe into the triple murder at R.T. Nagar that came to light on Monday has not made any headway.

Retired IISc professor P.L. Sachdev, his wife Rita (60) and son Munna (30) were found murdered at their residence off the 80-feet road in R.T. Nagar 1st block.

The police have been questioning Anurag (22), the adopted son of Sachdev. Anurag has reportedly told police that he left the house on February 14 evening to meet his friend and only returned on Monday. The police are also tracking the calls made by Anurag. The police are also on the look out for Deepak and his wife from West Bengal, who worked at Sachdev’s house for the last two months and have gone missing since Sunday. They have also not found any link to property related issue that may have led to the murders. Police Commissioner Shankar M. Bidari said they have so far not found any articles missing from Sachdev’s house.

“We are still questioning. We are searching for credible evidence to arrest the accused and find the motive behind the murder,” he said.
