NEW DELHI: The 12th edition of India International Security Expo showcasing the latest developments in surveillance devices, explosive detection and aviation security will be inaugurated by Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Sriprakash Jaiswal at Pragati Maidan here this coming Sunday. Organised by the India Trade Promotion Organisation in collaboration with the Central Industrial Security Force and the International Institute of Security and Safety Management, the four-day fair is considered one of the most prominent events in South Asia on security, fire, law enforcement and safety industries. Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, IITF Chairperson and Managing Director Sheela Bhide said the exposition was essentially an acknowledgement of the need to beef up the country’s security environment in keeping with growing threat perceptions and the priorities accorded by the Government. “A wide array of latest gadgets and systems in the areas of surveillance, fire-fighting, explosive detection and disposal, traffic monitoring and radio communications, besides those related to security of banks, aviation and hospitality sectors will be showcased at the expo by 80 companies.” CISF Additional Director-General Manjari Jaruhar said the exhibition assumes special significance for the CISF as it had been able to highlight its works across the country. “At the moment, we are guarding historic monuments including the Taj Mahal and the Red Fort. As the Delhi Metro railway is fast expanding our work is also increasing at metro stations. .”
