Kent RO aims to consolidate market position

NEW DELHI: Water purifier manufacturer Kent RO Systems is focussing on the computer controlled mineral reverse osmosis (RO) purifier segment as part of its plan to achieve a sales turnover of Rs. 170 crore by 2010.

“We have just launched our Kent Grand Plus of Mineral RO water purifiers... We hope the new range will help us reach a sales target of Rs. 170 crore by 2009-10,” Kent RO Systems Chairman Mahesh Gupta told PTI.

The company, which claims a 30 per cent share in the RO segment of water purifiers, reported a turnover of R.s 100 crore in 2007-08 and hopes to close this fiscal with Rs 125 crore.

“The market is a bit down at present. We were hoping for a turnover of Rs 140 crore this year, up from last fiscal’s Rs 100 crore. However, we are now likely to end the end with Rs 125 crore and we hope the new range would help use achieve a turnover of Rs 170 by 2009-10,” Gupta said.

The company was undertaking a marketing campaign for its new Kent Grand Plus range of Mineral RO purifier.

The campaign would involve Kent RO’s brand ambassador and Bollywood star Hema Malini, Mr. Gupta said. — PTI
