MCD to give MPD benefits to non-residential buildings

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: The Municipal Corporation of Delhi has decided to sanction building plans of commercial, industrial, institutional and multi-storeyed group housing society in keeping with the provisions of the Master Plan for Delhi-2021. The decision was announced by MCD Standing Committee chairman Vijender Gupta on Thursday.

The decision has been taken in consultation with the Delhi Development Authority and with the approval of the Lieutenant-Governor, Tejendra Khanna.

“The decision will benefit lakhs of properties situated in non-residential areas in various parts of the city as no building plan was being sanctioned in these areas since May 2007 owing to the Supreme Court’s order,” Mr. Gupta said. The Master Plan for Delhi-2021 permits a third floor or additional floor on residential plotted areas and other buildings within the permitted floor area ratio and height.
