TIRUCHI: A large number of students of class VIII of different schools across the district participated in a painting competition organised by Anna Science Centre-Planetarium here on Friday in connection with the National Science Day celebrations – 2009.

Enthusiastic boys and girls displayed their talents in using brush and paint on the topic ‘Journey to Moon: India’s Mission’. The organisers were surprised at the abundant knowledge the youngsters possessed on the success of Chandrayaan 1, the country’s first unmanned lunar space craft. The Anna Science Centre will also organise essay writing competition for Plus One students on February 23 and an elocution competition for class IX students on February 24.
