This Day That Age
“Bharata Natya is a special art of our country. It is a combination of many excellences and many disciplines,” observed Dr. C.P. Ramaswami Aiyar in Coimbatore on February 16, when presiding over the Bharata Natya dance recital by Mrs. Aiyleen Ramaswami, an English lady. “It is difficult for a European to enter into the discipline of this art that is not only secular but sacred, but Mrs. Aiyleen Ramaswami has succeeded in doing so and I congratulate her on the excellence she has attained at facial expression which she has been able to bring into play and also on her entering into the spirit of production completely.”
